How do I submit a manuscript?
First- We do not edit your material. Do not submit your manuscript until it is a completed work and you are ready for it to go into print exactly as it is. For paperback and Smashwords we may have to format your manuscript, but, generally we never change your books concept, plot, or information- Including but not limited to grammar and spelling. On occasion we may make suggestions for the betterment of your book or selling potential- but the final choice is always up to the author to decide and execute. Second- Read our submissions page. To submit follow the guidelines to the best of your ability and then send to submissions@abnerpublishing.com What happens if you reject my manuscript? In ideal circumstances we like to offer our feedback for improvement and/or alternative publishers. Unfortunately it is not always feasible for us to contact every person who submits to us. What happens if you like my manuscript? If we like your manuscript a representative will contact you and make an offer to publish your manuscript as an eBook or paperback. What is a typical offer like? Abner Publishing is an at-will publisher. The author or the publishing company may terminate their agreement with a 30 day notice for any reason. You are NOT under contract to us for a determined length of time; however, if you choose to remove your book from our services it cannot be published by any other publishing company for one year under penalty of law. Your intellectual property remains your own. Our royalties never exceed the 50% in our favor and vary depending on the services offered in each individual contract. What services are offered? If we offer a royalties contract, we publish your book mainly as an eBook on, but not limited to, Amazon, Pub It, and Smashwords. We also provide our authors with their own websites and market them on the internet, managing their month to month sales. The book design and website design is our responsibility. However, we do not illustrate your children's books. That is your responsibility. We also may offer, at our expense, putting your book into paperback for our personal sales or for your own personal sales. We are not a Vanity Publisher and you cannot pay us to publish your manuscripts. We also have an alternative service that can be purchased by the author- it is not offered under contract.
